How’s EMEA IMT? Do you still feel bad about being moved there? Not sure if you really did, in the first place…
Thinking about it, I think I was a bit relieved that it happened that way. I don’t think I will be at ease if you were in DMT, where the other Asia peeps can constantly tease me. Makes me wish I could control my turning red whenever uncomfortable. Anyway, we also had Dino to bully because of that, which was also nice.
Anyway, though short, I hope you enjoyed yourself in MDM. Good luck on your next role and future endeavors. Since you will be with some MDM peeps in your next team, at least you already start off with friends. Happy holidays!

Hahaha! To be honest, I still think it would have been awesome if I became part of DMT. I really love the idea of going to work in the morning and leaving while the sun is still up or at least doing overtime knowing that it's not that late out. I'll get to have some Asia work hours in EAI but I'm seriously not excited for the rotating schedule. :(
Hahaha I do agree it would have been uncomfortable, well more so for you than me. People just don't notice me going red kasi nauuna ka sakin haha. Trust me, I had the same uncontrollable face-turning-red issues... I still do haha. But like what I've said in my letter to you, I'm thankful cause you still took all the teasing gracefully. :)
You have a cool blog. I do hope you'll get to update it more if you wish. I for one am excited to read your Love Necklace entries, it seems interesting. :)
This along with plenty of other things like how you make games in excel (yes, I remember your help in keeping me entertained during my first few weeks) or your rarely-compromised personality are reasons why I think that you are truly a great guy. I hope we'll still get to hang out soon and that we go pass our awkwardness and become good friends. :)

I wanted to apologize if you felt like I'm ignoring you. (Tagalog nalang .-.) Sinubukan kong iignore yung mga tukso ng iba, pero naaffect parin ako eh. Naging awkward tuloy. I'm thankful that you still remained friendly despite that, and although you also caused things to get more awkward (like in Gerry's Grill earlier), I'm thankful for those moments, since even those awkward moments are memorable.
P.S. Shoot, same username pala yung Love Necklace... Hope you enjoy it, nonetheless. Also, I know it's Florido, but Florida's Gem seemed like a good idea for a "password" when I made it.
Haha it's cool, Jake. We have different ways of coping. So allow me to say sorry in return for making things more awkward for you (like in Gerry's Grill) haha. Sorry. :( For me it helps to just ride with what other people are saying instead of being totally embarrassed or defensive (baka ma-Kim ako pag ganun haha). I meant what I said when I told you I had the same uncontrollable face-turning-red issues hahaha! Again, sorry, Jake. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the Love Necklace links are visible! :) I just finished the Prologue and, shameless confession, went straight to Valentine's Day and finished that too before I got ready for bed haha. If it weren't for the fact that I'm so sleepy already due to the team buildings I've attended then coming in during Asia today, I would have continued reading through the rest of the night til dawn. Ay, also the fact that there are roughly just 30 days to the story, so I'm pacing. Sometimes it saddens me that some stories end too soon. :| Like when you're done, a different kind of sadness wanders about you because there's nothing more to read. Hahaha I hope you get what I'm saying, parang ang labo haha. If not, wag mo na intindihan.
Lastly, "ahhhh" for Florida's Gem haha. Some people kasi think it's really Florida. :( You've seen my LSAL jersey, right? Hay nako po! Florida ba naman nakalagay na surname?? Haha.
Anyway, I'm going to get some sleep now! I like this form of communication haha. I really don't know if I'll reactivate my facebook account na eh haha, so this is a good way of keeping in touch. :) Hope you're getting some sleep too! Good night! :)

ReplyDeleteI've read some of the other chapters, they're good din kaya! Your writing skills are really a pleasant surprise, galing mo lang... seriously. You use words and create sentences well; I especially liked the last paragraph of Day 15. Kinilig ako hahaha. :)
I put my info in the call tree, perks of still having some MDM teammates with me. ;) So hopefully, I still have a good chance of reconnecting with people. Jelai, Hanne, Charles, Brooke and Ans visited us in our floor today. It was nice, drama hits haha.
Yeah, Kim noticed that too (g.aflo). And I've passed on tickets to that queue na haha. Still think G-Flo is cool though haha. One of my closest college friends gave me that name, and it stuck na haha. :)

Hm, so okay rin nga pala yung latter chapters (parang di ako nagsulat xD). Actually, amazed pa ako na nakabuo ako ng story kahit sa iba't ibang araw ko ginawa yung mga chapter and la akong story plan.

As for my shift, rotating din kami D: EMEA ako kahapon. Di ko pa alam ano shift ko pagpasok ko uli sa January. I'll just ask someone before then. Kulang pa raw yung team, so di pa ayos yung rotation. Pero pag stable na raw lahat, every two weeks yung pagrotate ng shifts. (Noo! I dun wan nala!) Speaking of which, paano yung rotation sa inyo?
Haha oo, parang di talaga ikaw nagsulat. But in a good way. Like what I've said, pleasant surprise talaga. Di ko inakala na you have that side of you. :)

Aww... Visit mo na din lang kami pag nagtugma yung schedule. Or we'll visit you IPC people if we have training or whatever in IPC. I think yesterday pa nag-sink in sakin, or even before that, kasi for some time na ko nalulungkot. But yesterday, ang sad lang talaga when I woke up tapos not the usual routine. Then instead of taking the elevators to 35th, I had to go to the other side to take a different set of elevators to the 10th. Then pag panik, ibang environment. :(Gaaah. :(
Hahaha "G-Flo! G-Flo!", sinubukan mo talaga?? Hahaha. But usually they call me G. :)
Our shift rotates every 2 weeks, Asia and EMEA only daw. And I'm already stressing on how difficult that change may probably be! Like how my body clock and activities are supposed to adjust. Sana naman di kami magkasakit because of it. :( Sana di ka din matapat sa NALA. :( But this week, and I think the first few weeks of January, 1-10 EMEA pa ata kami para sabay-sabay yung new hires. Then for sure daw, only two of us will have the same shift so either si Kim and ako or ako and si Ray or the couple will get to be in the same shift hahaha! Third wheel na to. HAHA!
Anyway, time to get ready for work. Even if I don't think this is really what I want right now, I still think I have to make the most of this situation. Oh, my life. HAHA. Catch you later, Jake! :)

Ah, 2 weeks din. Buti pa kayo, Asia and EMEA lang. Parang DMT/QA ko lang kung ganun. And mabilis naman magadjust sa Asia/QA shift. Parang work extension lang.
Mukhang di talaga maiiwasan na magkakaroon ako ng NALA shift eh. I don't think I'll last long in the team. Sana nalang enjoyable yung work.
Sayang naman pag nahiwalay si Ray at Kim xD Although kawawa ka rin pag ikaw yung nahiwalay. Well, ilang hours lang naman difference. Btw, may Kim+Ray pairing na ba sa EAI? Prediction ko kasi magkakaroon parin yan, kahit walang taga-MDM na magshare eh.
I agree na masaya nga magmessage ng ganito. Parang pen pals lang xD. Though emailing will also work similarly. Mas mabilis pa.

Hahahaha funny you asked. I have been holding my tongue for Kim's sake, although she has put me in several awkward situations as of date, but someone noticed their (Kim and Ray) asaran one time. Hahaha. Kept mum still but made eye contact to acknowledge the observation hahaha. :))
Right?? Always wanted to have a pen pal haha. My mom had one back when she was in grade school, her pen pal was from Switzerland I think and she told me they sent each other candy wrappers. Hahaha. Don't know why either. Really, I think this is faster naman haha.

1-10pm naman yung EMEA niyo, right? Konting difference lang yan. Well, kung nagdidinner kayo after work in Asia shift, konti lang siya. Mga 9-10 na rin kayo makakauwi pag nagdinner kayo eh. Pag hindi, malaking difference nga siya. Pero kung natutulog ka ng 11pm, di mo na kailangan magadjust ng body clock.
Regarding Kim+Ray, I knew it! xD I was sure magiging close parin sila eh. Kung nakita yan ng iba, magkakaroon parin talaga ng idea yung mga tao. Paupdate nalang pag may mga rumors na. =))
Ah, alam ko bakit candy wrappers. Nagsimula yan nung nagpadala yung isa sa kanila ng candy eh. Pero kinain ng mailman yung candy, tapos tinira lang yung wrapper sa envelope. Nung nakuha ng isa, naisip niya candy wrapper lang pinadala sa kanya. And so it began. Well, weird parin, haha *throws away candy wrapper*

Oh! And our EMEA shift is really 4-12. We'll just be coming in 1-10 til January. Come February, it's 4-12 or 8-4 depending on the rotation sched. They said we'll just be inserting our lunch somewhere in between. I observed they don't take long breaks like we do haha. :(

Regaring candy wrappers, yan lang naisip kong explanation eh, although I dunno who ate the candy. Baka din chocolate yung pinadala, pero nagmelt off na yung chocolate tapos nagsettle sa bottom ng envelope. So nagmukhang wrapper lang pinadala. Why am I thinking so much about this?
Anyway, nabubuksan ko yung links kahit di ako logged in sa facebook. I wonder if that's just because of the cookies/cache. Naisip ko si Kim or Zari magshashare sayo nun eh. Pero since nandun rin sila sa pics, I thought you'd only see one of the two. Excited na ko sa newsletter release.
Aw, so mahirap parin nga pala yung adjustment from Asia to EMEA. Ang lungkot din na maikli lang yung lunch breaks. Mukhang magiging matagal yung sa amin eh. Although di pa ko nakapaglunch with the team, nakasama ako sa milk tea break nila. And tumambay talaga kami doon sa place. Hindi lang kami bumili tas balik sa office. Kung ganun break nila, paano pa yung meals? xD

I'm guessing he's also the Anonymous1 in Kim's FB quotable quote post. (I think "he keeps to himself" is valid... not sure din though xD)
We crave for things we cannot have. I guess, since I've felt that there's always nothing significant happening in my life, I just create something in my fantasies. Marami na rin akong naisip na stories, most of which I stopped continuing. First story na natapos ko yung Love Necklace. I also don't intend to show it to others, nakakahiya. Pero happy rin naman ako kung may nakabasa. I want to be criticized, para malaman ko rin improvement areas ko. Btw, how does being an outgoing introvert work?
Kung nagvivisit tayo ng sites, may tinatagong data yung browser natin eh. They're the cookies and Cache. As a result, kahit offline ka, paminsan makakaopen ka parin ng website. Though di siya gagana (ex: google.com). I forgot the difference between cookies and cache though.
Nawala internet namin kahapon (and mga 1 minute lang siya nagwowork today bago maputol). So ngayon ko lang nakuha newsletter. I'm looking forward to checking it (I already finished DMT though, haha).
Sana mahaba nga mga breaks. Maybe they just happened to be relaxed when I came in. One day work lang ako this year sa new team eh. So di ko alam kung ganun sila palagi. *Crosses fingers*

I agree with that saying... that we crave for things we cannot have. Those with straight hair want curly hair, those with curls want straight hair and plenty of other examples haha. I think I really get where you're coming from... God knows how many hours I spend in a day creating scenes in my head that would never happen at all. Hay hahaha. Oh... an outgoing introvert haha. I call myself that because I am an introvert... I like spending time alone, keeping to myself, doing solitary activities. But I have my outgoing side. Like I know people may observe that I'm makulit or that I'm okay with interacting with people. But at the end of the day, I'm still someone who prefers staying at home, someone who wants to escape from large crowds and someone who wants to do things alone most times. I don't need other people around me to feel energized like how extroverts are; I can survive on my own. Leave me alone at home the whole day and I won't mind. :)
Ah... still don't get it haha. I prefer chocolate chip cookies instead please! Nyaha! :)
Ang cute nung section nina Abet, super. Well the whole newsletter talaga was very nice. Gave me nostalgia that's for sure. Even if 5 months lang tinagal ko sa MDM. I'm sure some had it worse. :(

Kung papawork from home ka na nila, I assume that means you're already independent enough. (Medyo nagtaka ako sa meaning ng 'moments' nung ginamit mo siya.)
Regarding 'outgoing introvert', parang dating sa akin na paiba iba ka lang. Paminsan, you feel like becoming an extrovert and vice versa. Parang naiisip ko na lahat ng taong umiinom or nagpaparty is automatically not an introvert. Pero since sinabi mo na you also escape from crowds, may introvert traits ka. Although parang di ako naniniwala doon :P

ReplyDeleteI guess my wfh is more of a formality in creating schedules. I don't think I'll be working from home any time soon cause I have plenty to learn pa. I definitely think I have a long way to go before I can at least manage normal day-to-day operations.
I'm not even going to attempt to explain the context in how I used "moments"... nor persuade you of my introvert qualities. :) Haha.
I reread the newsletter. To answer your question if I have let go of MDM, the answer would be no. I don't think I'll ever let go of MDM. Haha cheesy. Sabi nga ni ate Jelai in her farewell message, keep that MDM heart (or something like that). I think I'm carrying my MDM life with me in my new team, like while I work and stuff. Haha. Okay. Stop. Drama hits na naman haha.
Well, maaga naman dinner namin compared to how EMEA MDM does dinner. But, maiksi talaga. Like hindi pa ako natutunawan, tatayo na agad. Naman haha. There's one boy who I think eats faster than you haha. :)) Regarding "dismissal time", well hindi pa ako nakakuwi ng honda... honda-dot. Haha. Laging 30 mins more than necessary. Or like today, I joined them nga for the drinking session which went well naman. :)
Hahaha yeah, I get what you mean. But I think you'll find yourself well-adjusted to your team in the future naman. Ay ako I won't get to enjoy the holidays without thinking of work! I have an exam on January 4! Hahaha. 2 days after the break, and the 1st day is for review. @@

I think I only brought up the introvert discussion because I felt competitive. I'm more of an introvert than you are... something like that. =)) (Analyzing your own behavior gives a weird feeling. Ang sad pag nalaman mo how shallow you are. .-.)
When I asked "ikaw ba?", I meant kung kamusta ka sa pag-adjust sa team. I didn't think that you would have already let go of MDM at this time. Pero I had a new perspective because of what you just said. I guess I don't really have to let go of MDM to adjust to my new team. I can bring MDM into the team. Haha, paano kaya yun?
Dapat lang na mas maaga dinner niyo sa EMEA IMT dinner. ~2 hours late yun eh. Pero gaano kaaga? Parang nachallenge ako sa boy that eats faster than me... xD

Hahaha WHY?? Why are you being competitive about who's more of an introvert between the two of us?? Hahaha! You're so funny! You could have just asked me directly... I'll tell you you're more of an introvert compared to me hahaha! Take that as a compliment? :) Yeah... finding out you're shallow can be tough, but realizing that you are gives you an opportunity to be better. Some people, they don't even realize how shallow they are... which is sadder.
Ah... I think when it comes to interacting with people, I'm adjusting well naman. Like I've managed to go out with them kahit wala si Kim or Ray. What I'm scared of is the technical stuff. I don't want to disappoint them. :(
Dinner siguro runs anytime between 7-9. Hahaha that boy really eats fast! And ang dami niya kinakain! The other night, he ate half a chicken from Bugong in less than 10 minutes! Grabe! Hahaha. Stop eating fast! Enjoy your food. :( Hahaha.

Wag mong isipin na madidisappoint mo sila. Mistakes are normal and it is after you have them that you grow exponentially.
Panalo na siya sa chicken. Di ako masyadong mahilig doon so medyo mabagal ako diyan. Pero nageenjoy naman ako kahit mabilis kumain eh. The taste of the food is always the best in the first few bites. It just means na nilulunon ko agad yung pagkain at their best form.
Nasa Japan na ko. Umaabot yung wifi from lobby to our room. Yey! Late na kami nakarating (~9pm) dahil nadelay yung flight. Had ramen dinner then went to hotel.

Oooh, competitive! You should be in my team then. Competitiveness to the max! Pati sa pagpunta sa team building to Laguna, racing yung cars. Our manager is super competitive haha. Yeah, it is normal to not realize how shallow you are. But ewan ko, sometimes I feel one has to observe their own personality from time to time. An introspect to figure out how you can better yourself... which I don't know if everyone should do but think they should. I think it's a good exercise. :)
Hmm.. I don't think we're using the word shallow in the same way. I certainly don't associate it with people na mababaw lang kaligayan, that's a different kind of shallow - a cute and funny kind. I thought you meant shallow in a negative sense.
It's hard not to think I might disappoint them. I'm getting along with them well and I don't want that tarnished by my not-so-great technical skills haha. But I do understand that mistakes are normal and useful for improvement if handled correctly. Hay basta, I want to do well and I hope I can do well. :)
Whattt? Ayaw mo ng chicken? Haha! I love chicken! Or maybe because I don't like eating too much pork and beef and so I eat chicken as a substitute most times haha. Well if you say so haha (that you're still enjoying the food despite your speed in getting it down)!

ReplyDeleteDi naman sa unlikely person kailangan. It just so happens na naaalala kong unlikely person yung nagninja sa akin. Meaning, di si Tam-san, Nico, Dino, Mayor, ... Nakita ko sino eh. Di ko lang maalala.
May limit yung pagkacompetitive ko eh. I also have a tendency to keep a low profile, so sa mga walang kwentang bagay ako nagiging competitive.
As for the definition of shallow, parang iba nga. Pero la akong maisip na ibang definition, when it comes to describing people eh. "Low" siguro... As in a person stooping so low.
I agree sa sinabi mo about it being nice if people analyze their own behavior and improvement areas. But in the end, people desire to be selfish eh. So I don't think their analysis of themselves will change them much.
Ganyan ba kataas expectations nila sa technical skills mo? I think, rather than you not disappointing them, you should adjust their expectations of you. Ikaw rin mahihirapan pag masyado mong pinataas eh. Well, unless you're aiming for K rating. Either way, good luck nalang.

Hmm... I don't know what my stand is regarding your statement about people being selfish and how in the end nothing will change so much. I don't know if I agree, disagree or slightly agree. I'll add that to my list of things to think about before I go to sleep. :)
Regarding their expectations, I have no idea. They know for a fact na right now I don't know much... but what I'm afraid of is not knowing enough in the long run or to be an average performer. I want to do well kasi. I'm in this phase where I focusing on myself is a top priority. So I'm surrounded with thoughts of doing well in work, learning and experiencing more things and just making myself better in general. Like a Gemma version 2.0! Haha. Sad recent events, well I guess not so recent, led to this realization so there. Insert convince-myself-that-everything-is-okay-and-will-only-get-better smile here. Hahaha!
I HAD BON CHON YESTERDAY! Yes, in my head I was shouting haha. But I did! It was so good. I love Bon Chon chicken! Spicy wings with kimchi coleslaw or spicy mayo or the bulgogi box. Mmm-mmm-mmm! Hahaha. :)
Maybe when you return you can make it your next adventure to search for a place here with ramen as authentic as the one you had there! My friends and I eat in those Korean restaurants in Makati Ave, you know the not mainstream ones that are run by Koreans. They're pretty good! Somewhere near my place, like a few blocks away, are some pretty good Japanese restaurants. Have you ever heard of Little Tokyo? This strip with Japanese restaurants like Seryna or Shinjuku? Those restaurants. But I don't want to try it out because it's full of Japanese men with girls (you know what kind) and it makes me annoyed and uncomfortable. Haha, I'm rambling sorry. Anyway...
Over the holidays I will be celebrating Christmas and New Year haha. Won't we all? I'll be going to church to hear mass, spending time with family and reading plenty of books hopefully and oh having DVD marathons. I'll also be baking again... I haven't baked in a while so I'll be probably go in a baking frenzy if time permits haha. I have a number of stocked recipes I want to try. And hmm what else... go to gatherings and other events and plenty of other things I suppose haha.
And so another day is about the end. Enjoy day 3! I hope you get to eat good Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki. :)

Ex: Pagdodonate ng mga politician. How often do they donate not for publicity? Okay, that wasn't the best example. Pero ayoko na baguhin xD
I'm not saying we never do selfless acts. SFK is an example of a selfless act. We did it to give back and for togetherness. Pero most of the things we do are for our own happiness. Desire natin maging masaya eh.
I don't know why I was persisting na tanggalin mo yung pressure sa sarili mo. I guess what's important is that you don't let your fear of making mistakes slow you down too much. Ex: it's fine to take notes. But don't rely heavily on your notes. Yan yung mali ko dati eh. Nung nawala ko notebook ko saka lang ako natuto.
Regarding bon chon... nagcrave na rin ako :/ Naghanap na kami ng authentic ramen shop after we last went to Japan eh. We found some close ones. But after eating ramen here again, iba parin pala talaga.
I've heard of little tokyo. Di ko pa natry since our family rarely goes to Makati to eat. And yes, I also see Japanese men with girls. Nakikita ko yan sa bowling. To each their own.

I also took baking classes, was a Maya Kitchen kiddo haha. Yup! Cake, cookies, brownies, muffins, cupcakes, lemon squares, etc... mmm-mmm-mmm. Excited to bake! :)

ReplyDeleteHmm... I don't know how to answer that question - if we're selfish because we do good things to go to heaven. I do want to share though, that I remember reading a book by a priest once which said that there are two kinds of people who go to confession. Those who go to confession because they want to confess their sins so they can go to heaven and those who confess because they are really sorry for hurting God through their actions... I think he said either reason is valid for confession, but maybe if one is employing the second reason, then it's not really selfish because it's not his or her feelings that he or she is putting first. Major disclaimer: this is not a thoroughly thought of idea. :)
Err... I don't know haha. So far, I think Bon Chon is the only chicken na kahit gutom ako or hindi, kain lang ako ng kain haha. Like no fail... cause sometimes I do eat food even when I'm not really hungry haha. :)
I don't want to talk about Japanese men anymore haha.
Yeah! I'm proud to say that I had a pretty good childhood! The families in the village we lived in were pretty close, kahit ngayon na people have come and gone, may communication pa din. I miss those days tuloy. On random nights, parents would get together in one family's home. The dads would be in one corner drinking, the moms in another corner talking and the kids would be in the streets playing or in another family's home still playing haha. We're allowed to sleepover always cause we'll just be doing so houses away lang! I remember when one forgets her toothbrush, she'll just go home then come back again haha. Here's to hoping that I would be able to raise a family in the future and that I could provide a good childhood to my kids, the one they'll love remembering. Hahaha here I go again with my ramblings. :)

ReplyDeleteI like the confession story. That was what I wondered about when I raised my question on selfishness - whether doing good things to go to heaven is still good.
I think lots of people eat food kahit di gutom, pero not usually chicken xD. Di ka mahilig sa junk food (i.e. tsitsirea?)
Narinig ko dati na nagcrcrave tayo ng food kung stressed tayo. Bale kung bored tayo or nanonood ng movie, nasstress din tayo kaya kumakain din tayo. I think gawa gawa lang ng kapatid ko yung thought na yun, so don't think too much of it.
Ganda nga nun. The thought of having your children grow up in a place where they can play with other children living nearby. Mga grade 2 na ko lumipat sa bahay namin ngayon eh. And walang malapit sa amin na bahay na may mga kasing age namin. Before kami lumipat, nakatira kami sa bahay na connected sa bahay ng pinsan namin. Pero may age gap, so parang mga ate, kuya sila para sa amin.
Nasanay na kong di talaga close sa neighbors eh. As if they just happened to live close by. I don't know if I would have preferred otherwise. Baka mas naging sociable ako kung close nga kami sa neighbors namin.
Wagyu cows eat butter? Totoo yun? I always thought they're just anime cows.
Day 4, well technically day 3 night 4, was good. Pumunta kami sa Den-Den town, a place with lots of gadgets and anime stuff. Naghahanap din kami maid cafe, pero la kami nakita. Though di kami nagcocollect ng anime figures, they're quite photogenic, so picture picture kami. Nabasa ko sa isang guide na sa arcade place nila, may photobooth, where you could change costumes first before the picture free of charge. So we looked for that. May whole building for the arcades. Yung photobooth daw nasa 5th floor. So akyat agad kaming magkakapatid (me, lil bro, big sis). Pagdating namin, puro babae lang nandun and yung costumes pang babae lang din. We were so embarrassed! Sarap magtago ng mukha =)). Bad decisions make better stories.
We had takoyaki and okonomiyaki for dinner. So solved na :3

Hmm... I actually don't know if I'm the type of person who eats more when stressed. I think the only time my appetite increases more than usual is when I'm about to get my monthly period (sorry if this made you cringe if it did). Do you stress-eat? :p

I do think having plenty of friends in the village greatly contributed to my socialization skills. Pero sometimes it's okay din naman to not be too sociable eh, wag lang yung todo-todo antisocial haha. Sabi nga nila, no man is an island. HAHAHA. :))
Actually, I only heard that from my mom. Hahaha. I don't know where she got it haha. I just researched it and results said most cattles (is there a plural form for cattle? haha) served as Wagyu beef are fed with corn or barley or wheat hahahaha. Why are they anime cows?? :))
That's good to hear! An audible laughter escaped me when I read the part which tells of your photobooth adventure. I imagined you guys slightly dying of shame hahahaha. There's this particular photobooth I like in Timezone GB5. It's cheap kasi compared to other booths, like P39 lang per go. Wala lang, just sharing haha... I have a growing collection of pictures with my family and friends haha.
A random question, when you're with your family, like with your siblings for example when you were exploring the place, do you guys speak in Chinese? Also, what is a maid cafe? :)

Kumakain ako ng junk food when I'm bored or watching stuff. Since usually, nanonood lang ako ng mga series or movies sa bahay, kain lang ako ng kain. I finish ~1-2 bags of chips a day xD La akong control eh. Containers don't always work.
Yup. I always had my siblings to play with. Same wavelength kami ng little brother ko so usually kasama ko siya maglaro or manood ng stuff eh. I guess that's the reason I'm pretty happy.
Although it's fine not to be sociable, it's still a useful trait eh. Ex: pag nasa party ka, at least you know how to converse with others. Di ka lang nakaupo sa chair mo, playing with your phone... Ouch.
Oh. Well, weird naman kung butter pala. I don't think they'll eat butter. Anime cows is japanese cartoon cows. Sinasabi ko lang na wagyu comes from anime cows since di siya normal. Imba, as pinoy gamers call it.

Yup, I know eating too much junk is bad, but back then I didn't care. Then I had UTI because my water intake was not enough so I had to stop eating too much salty food, not just chips. Now I'm UTI-free so I get to eat again, in moderation of course. ;)
I'm like you din haha. I told you I like staying at home diba, and when I'm home, I watch tv din or my asian series (although not anime) or movies. Then I open bags of junk food, and sometimes I just finish them instead of storing them because I end up convincing myself na "konti na din lang, ubusin ko na". HAHAHA!

It is a very useful trait. I really think kailangan siya. Yun nga, kahit not too sociable but at least some sort of social skills. They come in handy and will lead one to plenty of learning.
Gaaah can I just say, I just removed my retainers (yeah, I still wear them even if nag relapse na ulit yung teeth ko and I probably have to wear braces again :| ) and it cut me pretty big on my lips. :(( And I want to cry na because it hurts and I can just imagine how burdensome eating food will be. Herbivore, carnivore, omnivore and omnomnomnomnivore hahaha. I think we'll get classified dun sa last type. :))
I usually watch Taiwanese and Korean series. It all started with Meteor Garden. Hay nako po haha. Was such a fan. @@ Hahaha. We had the VCDs (di pa uso DVD nun so 1 CD per episode pa haha), compilation of commercials and their concerts and videos. Pinanuod din namin ni mom and ate yung lahat ng concerts nila dito hahaha. Those were the days. Pero now I seldom watch na, minsan na lang. Parang walang maganda recently eh.
Ahhh... Not that big of an age gap. Kami ni ate 5 years, pero we're still close. :)
The cut is like half an inch big. I wasn't playing with my retainers, I removed it lang and then di ko napansin yung end ang lapit pala sa lips ko so yun. :( I don't think I can place dental wax sa area. I've been wearing mine for a year. pero super on off haha. There was a time kasi na I didn't wear it for months, ayan, relapse. :|

Last night was pretty cold due to the wind brought in by the storm, well now it's a tropical depression lang daw. Last night, I also had a very spontaneous sleepover with one of my HS best friends. Saya lang! We were never the spontaneous type and sakto lang na we were both game haha. Just sharing haha. :)
Yeah, but may New Year pa so okay lang yan. Plus we'll only wait 9 months til the festivities start again haha. :)

Hmm... baka nga 3 per episode yung laman ng CD. Mahalungkat nga haha. But sobrang pangit na ng quality. I've caught that show a few times on tv (My GF is a Gumiho) but never ko natutukan. The few series that I sometimes watch again from time to time are Meteor Garden haha, Princess Hours and Romantic Princess I think. I like watching and replaying specific films too. Usually pag Asian films I like yung action, may sword fights haha. I have several copies of Azumi which I think I have watched 5 times or more (each for Azumi 1 and 2, I LOVE IT haha)and So Close which is a mainland film. I don't know how many times I've watched them haha. I also have yung mga 8-in-1 na dvds filled with Asian action hahaha. :)) Got carried away with this paragraph hahaha.
I don't want to talk about my dental life anymore hahaha.

I like this kind of weather. I like cloudy days the best but rainy is also good... compared to really sunny days. Haha. If only heavy rain won't come with plenty of destruction. Hay...

Movie yung Azumi 1 and 2? I've looked up the story and it seems to be worth watching (swords! assassins!). Though parang ang sama ng review niya sa rotten tomatoes (which you can't always use to judge a movie anyway). So kung movie lang talaga siya, I might try watching them. Baka kasi may series siya and it just so happens na may movie din siya.
Men hang out if they happen to be in the same place when they ask. Ex: You work together anyway. Pero to ask someone out of the blue lang is not okay. Pride lang. I can almost hear Tam-san and Dino shout "Gaaaay!"

Bakit long day? I felt it passed by quickly enough. I bought a toy for myself ("Hot Zoom", bow and arrow) then watched 5 episodes of My GF is a Gumiho. Lampas pala 1 hour per episode. The toy? I wanted to buy it last year, though iba yung brand ng dating nakita ko. Pirated ata ito. Oh well, it's cheaper. It was a good day.
4 days nalang bakasyon!!! Hope we enjoy the rest of it. Over and out.
Finally getting to write back. So funny how my last reply was telling you how I woke up feeling relatively better compared to other days then yesterday I woke up feeling sick haha. But it didn't stop me from spending the day in the mall with dad and ate and so after I went home and slept feeling even more sick. Then today we had to be up early. Buti na lang I'm not sneezing as much, it was getting annoying. Now the only thing left is my stuffy and runny nose haha. ANYWAY!

Why "aww"? It's really good. I researched it too... I think the inventor meant to do a bubblegum but ended up with Hi-Chew instead haha. The texture is almost similar to that of a bubblegum although still different.

Long day because last Friday because I started my day with errands then got ready for a baby shower/Christmas party, went to the shower/party then had another mini-get-together afterwards with some friends. Tiring but fun! We had the shower in McDonald's hahaha. We surprised our friend. It was so funny! We got a Kiddie Birthday package talaga so there was a host and stuff and we played games, won prizes and availed of loot bags haha. We had plenty of leftover food because the package we got was for 30 and we were only 15! 2 chicken spaghetti meals, fries and sundaes for each person! HAHAHA!
Time flies when you're hooked to a series, noh? I remember how I used to wake up then stay on the sofa lang til night cause I was watching something. I'll insert taking a bath somewhere in between and I'll eat in front of the tv haha.
That sounds fun - to have bought a new toy. Well I think buying something you've wanted for some time is great. As long as walang todo remorse for it haha. I hope it won't get broken like the water squirter. :(
Can't believe we'll be welcoming a new year tomorrow. 2012 gave me a lot of new experiences... And although I'm thankful for them - good or bad, I'm sincerely praying for a happier 2013. :)

The whole time, iniisip ko Jan 2 yung pasok. Nung nicheck ko yung emails ko para malaman ano shift ko pagpasok, nakita ko na parang Jan 3 yung next schedule. Ni-text ko yung team lead ko and buddy ko pero walang nagrereply eh. Buti nalang naconfirm mo. I get an additional day :O :D (Pero di ko parin alam shift ko. Pag walang nagreply, magaasia/emea nalang ako. Bahala na.)
Ang weird ng pagkasira niya eh. Pagbitaw ko sa hawakan sa likod ng arrow, may weird akong nafeel. Pagcheck ko sa arrow, umangat yung back end ng arrow from its skeleton. Kung yung reason bakit nasira is nahila ko yung arrow, after its release, dapat baliktad yung pagsira niya.
Anyway, may nerf gun kami ng younger brother ko eh. Habang nilalaro namin dati yun, naisip ko na parang ang cool, pag may arrow din kami (at that time lumabas na yung original version ng nabili ko). Parang mas interesting yung arrow sa baril eh. At least alam ko na yung feeling nung pag-gamit doon. It was more awkward than I expected.

Although I didn't have that many kasi batang kalye ako haha. I like playing outdoor games. I had like 2 barbies lang ata compared to my other girl friends who had like I don't know how many hahaha!

Ganyan kalala yung pagiging pula ko. Tomato tuloy nickname ko nung high school. As for friends, di ako sociable eh, so sa mga loners/outcasts (tinutuksong tao, tahimik na tao, and exchange student) ako nakipagkaibigan. Mas mahirap lapitan yung mga popular na.
Telling the world what you're doing... yan rin dati reason bakit ayoko magfacebook eh. Though ginagawa ko na siya ngayon. If past me can see me now... Pero kakatuwa rin mga social networking sites, no? Dati para maging connected sa iba, kailangan mong maghintay ng tao sa mga messenger. Pero ngayon tuloy di na masyadong nagoonline sa messenger mga tao, which is sad.

Jan 1 was nice, because I found out I had an extra vacation day. Parang mas naging productive rin siya compared to today, where I've just been loitering around the house pondering on how to make use of my last day. Ayoko ko pa pumasok!!! =)) Parang bata lang.
Hopefully, mag-enjoy tayo sa bagong teams natin. The reason we're not looking forward to tomorrow is because we feel that it won't be as good as yesterday. Or is it just me? :/

Haha yes, I don't leave my jacket sa office. I usually just bring cardigans kasi or sweaters. But I'm thinking of putting a permanent-ish jacket na din in the office to use when at work.

Yeah, I get that (the not getting it part...). To each his/her own, I guess. Maybe people want to feel like celebrities. You didn't like messengers? (Why am I speaking in full English?) Gusto ko dati yung ym since doon ako mas nakakausap sa iba eh. Pag in person, di ako nakikipag-usap. Kinda like releasing build-up, I guess. I don't think someone who works in an IT company could be considered technologically challenged. You're considered technologically challenged if you don't know the shortcut of copy and paste.

Hahaha, you're so funny. Well I researched what a nerf gun is so I guess we're quits. Ako na loser for not knowing what it is haha. Allow me to skip some paragraphs agad to say that no, we don't smash barbies against each other haha. Unless it's a fight scenario haha. More of playing dress-up, pretending barbie's going shopping or cooking or being a socialite or falling in love with Ken (the boy barbie) haha.

Hmm... kasi when I wear cardigans or sweaters, I wear them as part of my outfit for the day. So similar to the other things I wear, I put them sa laundry at the end of the day kasi buong araw ko talaga sila suot and I wear them even outside the office and get them dirty. :) But I guess if I place a jacket sa office, I can replace them every week? ReplyDeleteWell, iba naman ang socializing on the net and in person. Kahit during high school, I socialize in the internet via online role playing games and forums. Pero silent lang ako in person. Pag nagsusulat ka lang kasi, you have all the time in the world to come up with what you want to say. In person, may timing yan eh. Pag matagal ka mag-isip ng reply, tapos na yung topic. Kinda like making hirit.
Ah, there's always that person nga. The one who is super rarely online. You happen to be that person in your group. =))

Yup, they're the same. Just googled to be sure. I don't think puking = glutton. Gluttons just like eating too much that if they're already full, they will force vomit their food so they can eat more. At least, that's what I believed. Maybe not all gluttons do that.

ReplyDeleteWell, of course. Aside from the people that you just don't like, some people are still uncomfortable to talk to. I guess it's the aura. Parang you get different feelings when talking to different people, since they send off different aura. Some makes us uncomfortable. I think that's when their personality clashes with your own (not because you hate them) or kung feeling mo they're above you (like when talking to a manager).

You can only have ONE! jk... Well, of course we all want to say that. Di ako naging DMT king. There are a lot of cases where I have to ask the team din (like Mayall. Mayall was 'DMT' itself). "Ano uli normally ginagawa natin pag ganito?" Or Jelai.
Hindi naman ako naging guilty. True, it's normal for us to eat more than what we need. Pero I don't think we should already consider ourselves as gluttons. Parang more than that yung glutton eh. Naiisip ko mas extreme. Like someone who still eats even though they're already full. The idea comes from the Proverb I quoted. I only eat, even though I'm already fill, if there are leftover food that would be too much of a waste to throw away. But there are still limits.
Ah, baliktad ako eh. Madalas ako pawisin sa labas. In college, I normally have a towel at my back (parang bata lang). Hindi naman talo winter ng Japan. I was just better equipped in Japan (bundled up na). Di rin sa mag-isa ako sa floor (well, this goes without saying). Fe also felt cold.
When you said "Plus EMEA pa, cooler at night." Mainit naman kung papasok, since mga 3pm yun. Kung pauwi naman, sandali ka lang sa labas, diba?

Haha, I didn't think so. But just imagine yourself playing it. Do you think you can still have as much fun? Or does it just seem silly? Just to share... I can still play fighting games with my hands (one hand = one person. Both hands fight). I was caught doing that in high school a few times and got scolded by the teacher because of it. Ah... issue din kasi talaga yan ni Kim. Sana magkaroon ka na ng permanent fix (naks, "permanent fix" haha, felt funny to say haha). HIRAP SUPER TO LOOK BUSY! Especially in our team kasi the managers from the other teams in our floor are iffy when they see you doing non-work stuff in your laptop even during free time. So ingat-ingat kami sa team namin na makita haha. Alala ko dati nung patapos na yung transition natin, full screen pa ko nanunuod ng mga sine. Pakapalan lang! HAHAHA! :))
2 days down, 3 more to go! Woohoo! It's kind of crazy though when you stop for a moment and think how fast days go by talaga. 9 days in 2013 na tayo agad. Woahhh.

Apparently, ctrl+s doesn't work in OneNote. I was also informed na may test nga kami. Haha, I'm dead. Tapos na ba trainings niyo? Nagkatest na kasi kayo eh.

Kinabahan ako ng super cause we just had our longest training yet and madami-dami yung notes. Buti naman it saved else I'll cry ng sobra. Hahaha. Then yun, nag-down pa yung net haha.
Grabe talaga yung iGDE na yun! Buti na lang talaga na we passed kung hindi ka-bad trip lang talaga. None of us would want to take that training again. Ang lousy lang kasi talaga nung trainer eh. Like how are we supposed to learn and answer the exam kung ganun?? Hahaha. Napa-rant? But I guess to turn it to a positive note, we were forced to really seek knowledge out on our own. I thought I'd be watching more episodes of FRIENDS (tinamad na din maglagay ng dot haha), but super konti pa lang ng napapanuod ko kasi I've been going home late. But in a while I'll watch. Hahaha Ross is whiny nga but I like the mix of the characters, they compliment each other. :)
DIBA?? Hay... Parang sakin it's hard to feel nostalgic about something and not feel even the slightest depression. Parang they go hand in hand haha.
Sobrang daming exams grabe! Kasi yung unang test was a bootcamp exam, parang general. Then the rest puro solution specific... Eh ang daming solutions! Crazy. Pero I'd rather have it this way na I guess than sama-sama sa isa. Too much to handle for one exam. Hahaha ganyan din kami, training then mawawala na agad yung knowledge. Then may test so mag-aaral tapos after that ulit, wala na haha. :)
I have yet to watch Les Miserables. Missing out ako haha. Hope I get to watch it soon.

Naschedule lang kami na magturo nun. Di naman namin nirequest. Although di ako sure kung ganun sa iGDE... Possibilities lang...

ReplyDeleteSa Monday/Tuesday na ko mag-aaral. Procastination rules. I feel too lazy to study today... and pag natapos ko lahat during the weekend, la rin ako magagawa sa office on Monday and Tuesday. Di ko alam bakit midterms tawag nila eh. I'm afraid that might mean there's a finals week after that.
Eeeew... nagwowork na siya. =)) 3rd week of Feb pa ata ako talagang magwowork. I wonder if it's fine taking it slow. Hindi ako nageeffort na maghanap ng something to study/work on sa office.

Hahaha I'm not much of a coffee drinker too. Recently lang for the Starbucks planner. And parang I felt that vibe to drink coffee because of work haha. I think I'll probably switch back to tea though and just enjoy coffee from time to time. Coffee does not do my tummy well eh. We just had an exam today. Hay... Fortunately, our exams scheduled for Thursday and Friday are cancelled because we're going to be put in the project by tomorrow na I think. Yahoo! :)
Medyo madami-dami yung work so far. We have to do manual monitoring of systems and stuff which is tedious but manageable naman especially when one gets the hang of it.
Yeah, I know maaga siya compared to others and I feel grateful for that. Our teammates weren't joking when they said that our manager really tries his best to help you in building your career. :) Thank you for wishing me luck! Although I'd rather you just tell me to do my best haha. I'm trying not to believe in luck hahaha.

Importante ang luck sa ITIL eh. Most likely, familiar ka na sa ituturo doon, so medyo mabilis na siya. Pero kung swerte ka, magaling rin yung magtuturo. Pag malas ka, boring yung magtuturo and you'll learn nothing. Mahirap mag-aral sa notes lang, since masyadong marami yung laman. Oh well, do your best na rin.
Inisip ko lang na baka nanood ka na before the weekend, and nagstart ka nung weekend sa episode 8, or something.
I'm very open to criticism. Mahirap magjudge ng sariling work eh. And since gusto ko pa talaga siya irevise, any comments will be helpful. Tapos na naman yung ibang chapters. Well kahapon I had tons of free time haha. Parang the day went by slowly nga for me eh. All I did was attend a meeting and some tasks. But I really expect it to be more hectic soon with the project and all.
Gaah, dun talaga ako kinakabahan sa ITIL. Like I've seen the reviewers of people, they're thick! Tapos from there 40 questions lang kukunin! Hassle nun. :| Makes me think it would probably be better if one took ITIL na mas matagal na siya sa company haha, para medyo alam na niya yung process haha.
I haven't been watching FRIENDS again. Siguro mga 2 episodes pa lang napapanuod ko this week. :( I heard HIMYM is about to end? Tama ba? Like they're going to reveal na ata the mom? Hahaha.
Okay, I'll get around to reading the next chapter soon. Hay nako I know that feeling, yung too many things to do but so little time. ReplyDeleteI don't know how I did. May mga blanks ako and marami akong sagot na di ako sure kung tama ba. At least I know I did better here than my test in MDM. Ang tindi ng mga research ko during the tests. Open sharepoint, shared directory ng team, notes, slides, emails... xD
At least may tasks and meeting ka. Puro non-work lang ginawa ko, except for a few pretend studies (since nakikita ng lead namin na di ako nag-aaral). I tried studying, pero before I know it, may iba na kong ginagawa. =)) ADHD.
Yung reviewers na nakita mo baka yung handouts. Ang importante lang is maintindihan mo yung tinuturo ng lecturer. Mahirap magrely lang sa aral since masyadong marami yung contents... wait, nasabi ko na pala yan. Anyway, since yung process natin ngayon is following the ITIL process, kayang kaya mo na yan.
I think last season yung next. Parang every season naman nila pinapamukhang makikilala na yung mother eh. Ex: May 1 season na nagend where nasa isang class na tuturuan niya yung mother.
Idle time is important, kahit na marami kang gustong gawin. Doon mo maproprocess yung mga nagawa mo eh. Like reading a book. Pausing once in a while allows you to digest what you just read. Importante rin yan kahit nagwowork ka na. Our focus usually lasts only for some time. Kailangan natin magrest once in a while para makarecharge. (Mga palusot kapag nahuling di nagsslack-off)

Hayyyy I feel so lazy. Parang wala ako masyado madami nagawa this week haha. Di ko pa natatapos yung ibang books na gusto ko tapusin. Most times nakahiga lang ako haha. Important naman talaga yung idle time (coming from someone na favorite hobby ang mag-space out lang haha). I just have to work on lessening it hahaha.

Well, depende siguro sa inorder mo. 22oz mango shake uses ~1 mango. In the end, di ko rin naman pinipili mga healthy fruits eh. But having fruits is always better than not having any at all. And di rin ako kumakain ng gulay, except for a few exceptions.

Parang pinapakita kong di ko sineseryoso yung team pag kung ano-ano lang mga sagot ko eh. Kung nagsisimula sa 'G' yung pangalan ko, gagawin ko kaya yan? =)) Sana G.AFLO nalang nilagay mo, para at least totoong workgroup.

ReplyDeleteHahaha I get what you mean. Siguro I can kid around with my exams since we get to kid around na din naman with our bosses, so parang it's not to the point of disrespect naman. Plus kita naman yung effort for all the other answers. Hahaha I don't think they'd get the G.AFLO kasi if I wrote it down.
Hassle naman kasi i-print lahat! Sayang sa puno haha. Bring out the discipline na lang haha. Our exams have temporarily been postponed to give way to the project. Laughtrip ng super kahapon. We had a call at 6, no one was ready haha. Sobrang nangapa kami, we were talking to the heads of the projects tapos we were supposed to extract using this tool but then wala pa kaming nakahanda na filters haha. I don't know if you got the scenario but in summary, sobrang kagulo ng call! But super fun naman haha. We ended that call at around 7:35 then we had another call scheduled at 8. So todo bilis namin mag-dinner nina Kim! So after all out calls, we got crazy just chilling and listening to 90s music. Ray was so funny, dami niya alam na songs. So unexpected haha. Karaoke mode kami sa conference room.
Whew, long paragraph that one haha. Napakwento. :p
Yup, wala masyado. :( Bahahaha. Lalo na kasi dahil yung Fridays which I usually treat as part of the weekend kung Asia ako, eh wala na dahil I'm EMEA. :( Hahaha.

If you put it that way, I guess pwede rin naman sa amin. Pero parang gusto ko lang seryosohin yung test. Maybe dahil open notes, I took too much effort looking for the answers, rather than thinking of funny answers. So wala na kong gana maglagay ng patawang sagot. Feeling ko rin iba't ibang tao yung magchecheck ng iba't ibang parts ng exams. So kung naglagay nga ako ng patawang sagot, yan na image ko sa lahat.

Yan din iniisip ko kaya di ako nagpprint eh - sayang sa puno. Pero mas effective talaga. I guess you just have to print out the important parts. Joke time lang yung shadowing. Pareho lang ginagawa ko. Slack around, trying to look busy. Kung may ticket akong nakita na mukhang di complicated, iisipin ko paano gawin. Then ask others kung may tanong. Kahapon, since walang simpleng tickets, nagbasa lang ako ng online story the whole shift (except ~15 mins of handover meeting).
Ang galing ng nagsulat ng online story na binabasa ko. Yung nagsulat is someone from a forum I used to be active in. Nishare niya yung story during its early stage. And nagustuhan ko siya. May mga tear-jerking parts pa. Yan yung naginspire sa akin gawin yung Love Necklace eh. I wanted to write something that can make people cry. Nung nicheck ko siya kahapon, ang dami na palang awards ng story. "Secondhand Memories" yung title, in case nacurious ka.

Sometimes, people do not give people second chances to know the each other better so good talaga na maganda yung una mong ipakita cause it makes or break one's interaction with others. In line with this, matanong lang, anong first impression mo sakin?? Hahaha. :))
May senior resources kami, di pwedeng wala haha. But some of those aren't part-part of our team which is EAI PI AS, those in our floor. Hahaha the team is medyo like MDM nga in the sense na they're not boring. Madami din maingay haha, and well siguro I can say for sure na prehong malakas uminom both teams... Although I think mas malakas tong EAI. Every week walang palya haha. But I really can't compare that well. Both teams have their own uniqueness about them. Kahapon Kim was asking who I can compare this one teammate we have in EAI to our teammates in MDM, and I can't answer. I just can't match anyone at all haha.
Ang saya naman! Kami medyo nagbbusy-busyhan na talaga haha. Although yesterday medyo chill day kahit papano. We had dinner pa with sina Dar, Da, Ice and kuya Paul. And Carlo stopped by for a bit. Bakit wala ka? :|
Hahaha na-curious nga ako. But I think I won't get to read it just yet. For now I think I'll try to get some sleep na. Not the best day today but I'm still grateful to have gone through it. I hope your day was better. :)

"ka-hassle?" Nalito ako sa word na yun. Well, I've been trying to learn how to eat veggies again, since end of college. Nagpa-bloodtest kasi kami and ang sama na ng results ko eh. I learned to eat and enjoy Ceasar Salad because of that.
ReplyDeleteUsually, yung first impression yung magiging basehan ng mga tao on who they will befriend, after entering a new environment. I don't think they will even consider giving second chances. It's more like di lang talaga natin maiiwasan na makainteract yung iba at mas makilala sila.
First impression ko sayo: Outgoing, responsible, and outspoken. Yan yung nakuha kong impression from the interview eh. I thought it would be interesting to have someone like that in DMT. I expected the team to change once you join in, kaya iniinsist ko na ikaw yung papasukin sa DMT (dyan nagsimula yung tuksuhan).
Okay, kala ko trial by fire yung gagawin nila =)). Expected ko naman na hindi magiging boring yung EAI team. I don't think there can be such a big team that'll be boring. Also, yung stress level sa work is directly proportional sa fun level ng team. :P Malakas din uminom yung team namin. Mukhang ako lang yung di umiinom. I need to come up with a seemingly legit reason to not drink.
Gawain ko rin yan. I subconsciously compare my current teammates with MDM peeps. I guess I'm trying to look for something familiar, to serve as my comfort zone. Nakahanap na ko ng Ray, Charles, Ice, and Marion. =))
Ginawa akong DM last week (starting Tuesday). Kaso lang walang dumating na issue, kaya chill lang. Pero dahil dyan, NALA na ko next week. :( Mas marami raw dumarating na issue sa NALA eh.
Di ako makapunta eh. ~3:30pm, nag-aya yung manager namin na magattend ng One Wellness event. Since may team-wide meeting kami at 5:30pm-8pm, I thought na babalik kami by 5:30pm. Though di ko parin expected na makakasama ako sa dinner with MDM folks, since I expected you to return to RS by then.
Yung nagsign up na kami, pinasign-up kami ng manager namin under her name. May raffle kasi for managers, wherein kailangan may at least 6 team members (signed under her name) siyang kasama for the prize during the draw. Nakakuha rin kami ng inside information na 8pm yung drawing.
So after the meeting, bawal ako umalis, since kailangan kasama kami ng manager namin during the raffle. Nanalo kami, as expected (since walang ibang kumpletong team nandun). After the event, back to work na kami. Since DM ako, di rin ako pwedeng basta basta umalis. Inisip ko rin na baka wala na kayo sa Decios' (sp?), and magkikita naman sa Saturday, so ok lang. Ayun .-.
Hindi natuloy yung wall-climbing, due to the lack of communication. Wala atang nagconfirm na sasama eh. Si Kim lang nakakakita ng mga responses, so I can't be sure.
Today's going to be a stressful day. May lunch out kami ng relatives namin on the mother's side. After that, magbobowling kami. Then pupunta kami sa Fort Santiago, since gusto ng dad namin ipaappreciate sa amin mga ganun. Also, may Chinese New Year event ata dun. Other people might think that's a fun way to spend the day. But I want my relaxing Sunday!!! Oh well, NALA pa naman ako sa Monday, so dun nalang ako babawi.

I wasn't a fan of raw food kasi back then. Pag tipong hindi naluto, ayaw ko hahaha. Back then, I wouldn't even eat sushi! Oh those years I missed! Hahaha. I partly blame it on my sister na nagsabi sakin na panis yung ingredients ng sushi and di niluluto. Ayun, di tuloy ako kumakain nun. I'm glad that phase is over. Because I really really love sushi hahahaha. I like Japanese food very much. :)

I actually feel pretty sad right now about work stuff, Jake. I mean I still am excited about the project and I really am happy about the people I get to work with (people in my team) but then we found out recently that the Asia shift will be removed from our team. Like there would only be people on stand-by for Asia shift but that technically, everyone would be EMEA. :( So yeah... I feel really down. I really want to have a normal schedule, and by normal I mean Asia sched. :( Hay... don't know what else to think about it. Parang I think about it, then I think if I want my life to be that way then I just push back the thoughts to the back of my head so that I don't get to think about it. :(
Regarding the project, I doubt they ever planned to do with that trial by fire approach din naman hahaha. Hirap yun. :))

ReplyDeleteAko I haven't been drinking lately because I'm not allowed too. Perfect excuse for getting out of those forced bottles or shots haha. But I still go with them, just for the company. Maybe if you put it that way, they'd understand. I'm sure they'll still appreciate your effort in going with them. :) Haha for the past weeks, I order mango juice lang and eat food. Fun! :)) Although I do miss reaching out for a bottle. Pero okay naman since I really don't like the taste of alcoholic drinks anyway haha.
Wow, nag-DM ka na!!! Hahaha. Hassle lang ng naging result - put you in NALA para magka-issue haha. But it's good din naman I guess so you'll know what to do. I don't think we'll have any DM roles soon because of the project, which I think in time will be hard kasi after the project babalik ulit kami sa support. Tapos feel ko medyo new hire feel ulit kasi din naman kami sanay sa ginagawa ng support. Oh wellzzz haha.

Hi Gemma. Actually, like I mentioned in moc, nanotify ako nung nagcomment ka. Nabasa ko rin yung comment sa mail ko. So yeah, I can say that it was indeed long. I thought maybe may part doon na nahiya ka or something, kaya dinelete mo. I deleted a few posts before, pero dahil naadjust ng cellphone ko yung alignment ng comment ko. I also feel... well, nod sad, but anxious (not sure if that's the right word). Baka last month ko na sa HP ang March eh. Ayaw ng dad ko na nagninight shift ako (and ayaw ko rin) so niraise ko yung concern sa lead and manager ko. Sinabi ko na pag di pwede tanggalin night shift ko, baka hanggang April nalang ako. I don't think they'll remove it since unfair sa iba. Baka sa Macquarie nalang (sabi kasi ni Verna hindi sila pinapaovertime).
Kahit na trial by fire naman and kayo na pinawork nila sa project, I still expected them to help out. So I didn't think it would be that bad. But that also depends on how helpful your teammates are.
Bakit bawal? Is the reason something I can use as an excuse? =)) So umiinom ka kahit ayaw mo sa taste ng alcoholic stuff? Why? Is the feeling that good that it's worth the hangover next day?
Yung DM ko more on reporting lang, which is actually pretty easy. May java tool kami na ginagamit eh and all I have to do is copy people's updates from moc to the tool. Yung ticket assignment iba parin gumagawa. Sa amin kasi yung DM yung kumukuha ng tickets, except pag marami na. Since medyo bago pa ko, di parin ako masyadong tumatanggap. 1 incident ticket lang ginawa ko last week, which I overanalyzed. Kakainis... ang simple lang pala ng sagot >.<

Actually, last last Sunday wasn't as bad as I thought. Pag dating namin sa Fort Santiago, tapos na yung event na gusto ng dad namin attend-an. Naabutan namin yung naghahagis na yung mga tao ng candies and chocolate coins. Funny thing, when they were throwing candies, I just watched, thinking that I'm already too old to chase. Pagtapon nila ng chocolate coins, takbo agad ako. Ang cute kasi ng coins eh!!! Pero di masarap yung maliliit (may maliit kasi na a bit smaller than a 1 peso coin). Pero swerte daw yun eh. Meh~
After the candy toss, we just explored Fort Santiago. Naalala ko yung photoshoot sa last MDM newsletter/Fe's pre-nup.
Since NALA ako the Monday after that, I felt like I had another weekend. Ang saya nun. I was able to work on my new story a lot. May bagong layout na rin siya (http://intertwined-threads.blogspot.com in case you want to see). Warning, anime-ish siya, since yung pagimagine ko talaga sa story is in the form of anime/manga/visual novel.
Nalimutan ko na ginawa namin last Sunday. I prolly just read manga. Lazy Sunday is nice... How was yours?
I really meant iPhone 15. Kasi humahaba yung iPhone every version eh. Ex: iPhone 5 is longer than iPhone 4. So iPhone 15 would be long enough for my whole comment to be visible.

Love long replies talaga! :) Nostalgia just kicked in as I remembered hand written long letters with my friends in the village haha. Aww... na-flatter naman ako ng todo sa sinabi mo. Whenever we discuss this though I always think pa din how happy I would have been kung DMT ako. Being in EMEA is fun because of the people but I really like Asia shifts better, which explains why I was really really REALLY happy the first half of this week cause of my shift for the ITIL training. Mas masarap talaga to do work in the morning and get it done while there's still sun out. And even if mag-OT, okay lang kasi you'll know it's not that super late pa naman. I feel like I get to do more when I'm on morning shift... And that I'm without a doubt happier talaga. :( Rant attack. Hahaha.
In line with this and what you said about the possibility of you leaving after this month, I think I will be leaving too after our project ends if pure EMEA na lang talaga yung team namin. Unless there's a bigger reason for me to stay, I think I'd have to let go din of HP cause right now I don't see myself as that person or I don't want to be or continue being that person. I see myself as the kind who'll wake up in the morning, go to work then do some activities pa after work ends. There's a different energy about me that comes out when I'm on morning shifts eh. Hahaha. I've been thinking about a different company na din but if I'll continue with the IT path, I want to stick it out for a while in HP. Well in general I want to stay for a year naman at least here sa HP just cause. So with this I wish us both the best for our careers haha. Tell me how things are going for you? :)
Bawal because I'm acidic, but better naman now although I'm not drinking too much pa din. I don't get hangovers. Lucky girl people tell me haha. But yeah I don't. So yup, I guess one of the reasons I do drink is because it gets me to loosen up. Good to feel after a stressful day at work. You might say why not just sleep or go home na and rest. I do that din naman, I'm a fan hahaha. I still am a homebody as I told you before, but I guess another thing drinking provides is the interaction I get with other people. Drinking sessions become an avenue for good conversations and sometimes good adventures haha.
I don't know if I'm happy or sad that I don't have DM work due to Central Testing. Kasi instead of the stress from operations, we have stress naman from the project, and I feel like the things we're doing right now is heavier. Hahaha. Like this week, well Thursday and Friday since I had ITIL til Wednesday, ang bigat lang nung tasks. Had to do Critical Project Schedules (CPS), check test cases and etc. Eh hahaha, medyo di naman namin gamay yung stuff na yun so natatawa na lang kami from the slight frustration haha. Hayyy, but at the end of the week, we survived namin. Hopefully we're not gonna die next week when we have to present it to P&G people and stuff haha.
I heard actually na Myra E nga yung kinuha mo sa booths haha! We were laughing thinking of what you'd do with it haha. Doubt you'd drink it haha! Pero try mo, sabi nga ng commercial nila "for more beautiful skin, inside out haha".

Last Sunday was pretty blah. Wala si dad eh na sa province siya for urgent work matters so kami lang nina mom and ate. It was still fun but siyempre we missed dad. Had Bon Chon though which was nice hihihi. After nun I exercised like crazy cause mommy just had to comment na "anak, wag ka magagalit ha, gumaganda ka pero tumataba ka din". And then I checked and ang laki nga ng tiyan ko wahahaha.

ReplyDeleteI liked the story. It really made me sad though, although I think that's not the core emotion it wanted me to feel as a reader. It was the type of story that wanted me to realize what I want to value in life. But it primarily made me sad.
On a brighter note, I was happy to see the involvement of The Little Prince in the story. It's one of my favorite books. Copy here at home is getting kind of worn out. Hahaha.
I guess I really don't have the much to say. Useless me offering critique haha. But for what it's worth, your writing style and your story itself is the type that made me want to continue reading. Next chapter, next chapter. Not bad for someone who's not a manga fan I guess haha.

As in yung homework talaga is to send a letter to a classmate. I don't think it felt good, prolly since it was a school requirement and not just something we wanted to do.

Doon lang ako nakahawak ng ganyan kaliit na chocolate coin. Usually, they're bigger than a 10-peso coin eh. Pero natry ko na yung maliit na coin. Di siya masarap :(
Well, rather than a manga, it's better to compare it to a light novel (yan yung novel version ng mga anime/manga). It's hardly different from a normal novel, but more dialogues and there are Japanese words/phrases used. My warning was actually for the blog layout I used. It was fun playing around with the blog template.

Regarding 4096 characters. I thought it had something to do with bytes (like how USB and external hard disks' space are always among the following: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1028, 2056...). Pero it should have be 4112 in that case. So I Googled it, and found the following:

Kailan ITIL exam mo? Mukhang kasabay mo pala isang teammate ko sa ITIL training (if sa IPC kayo).
Arc = part of a storyline... or something like that. Yung 'Where the Lines Intersect' kasi is a big story, from different points of views and different timelines. So each person's story is simply an arc of a much bigger story.
Also, naglagay ako ng maliliit na notes sa dulo ng mga chapters for the Japanese phrases used. It explains some things in the story, such as why Yuu suddenly thought of Reika as his rose when he muttered her name.
Haha, isa sa inspiration ko rin kasi yung Little Prince eh. I was already working when I read it. And natuwa talaga ako. I wanted to incorporate it in a story. Kaya yung tinuloy ko yung Yuu Arc, after a long break, nagtaka ako bakit ko pinasok yung 'Little Prince' sa story. It took some time to remember. =))
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Honestly, parang mas gusto ko yung pagsulat sa Love Necklace. Pero since gusto ko pa tapusin yung ibang Arcs, I didn't have much time to enhance it.

Medyo surprising how my work load is too much that I can't even do this properly. Not just this but other personal stuff. I can't even remember the last time I went home before 1. On the bright side, since I last replied, I am now ITIL certified! Woohoooooo! Hard work paid off I guess. Actually hard work and prayers haha, I know I could never have done that on my own seeing as I only got to study the mock exams haha. I am also now transitioning to become and expert duty manager for this application, I guess it's comparable to like being a global dean for something in MDM, although not sure. So yeah, my hiatus from replying had a reason. Recently, I've been going to work if not on time, earlier. Then I leave at like 2-3am average. Like 12hrs a day sa office. :|

Like looking back at our conversations we'd reply so fast like a day after then it became days then a week and now look at me replying after two weeks. Sometimes when I'm resting I'd be thinking how I haven't replied cause no time. :( I get hassled when I think about it, how awesome would it be to just have time to reply ng mabilis.
Regarding the kind of person I don't want to be... Well it's partly this. The kind of person who didn't get to reply after two weeks, and I'm kind of blaming it on my shift mostly. I'm actually happy for the increasing work load but over and over again I say it would be better to have this heaviness in an Asia time shift. Parang di ko talaga ma-balance yung oras ko ng mabuti pag EMEA then ganito ka-hevay. :|

Anyway, nasabi ko dati na naisip ko nang umalis ng HP, right? Reading your 'explanation' (xD) on projects was the push I needed to really resign. Mahirap nang umalis kapag may projects. Maraming ihahandover, if ever. Last day ko is April 29/30. Problem now is I slack off too much to apply elsewhere.

Determined na ko na aalis na ko eh. Unlike in MDM, hindi ako natutuwa sa work and gusto ko na magbago yung ginagawa ko. At least I was able to leave before getting assigned to projects. Sabi rin ng lead ko malapit na niya kong bigyan ng project eh. Anyway, I digress.
Congrats sa ITIL! I didn't doubt that you can do it. Mas studious ka sa akin eh. And the fact that I could do it just meant you could also do it. Funny thing... mock exams lang rin inaral ko. Dami kasi ng notes eh. =))
Regarding my keyboard pal, things just got busy. Last email ko sa kanya was during the transition to Infosys. At that time, nagwowork siya overseas as part time and was about to graduate from her post-graduate course. Gusto raw siya iabsorb ng company na pinagtrtrabahuan niya, although she's having second thoughts. I guess by now nagkaroon na siya ng fulltime job, so busy na. Anyway, sinasabi ko rin sa kanya na kung sobra siyang busy, there's no need to reply eh. At that time, it already took around a month before we can reply to the other's email.
Honestly, I can't help but compare our currect conversations with those email exchanges. Similar rin yung situation eh, in such a way na humahaba yung reply period natin. Well, although sad, I don't think it's such a bad thing. Having too much free time means things are not going well with your work-life. And of course, this shouldn't be the priority for our free time. We have lives outside the computer, after all.
Mahirap nga pala yung EMEA pag lumalagpas ka sa 9 hours. I kept on saying mas masaya sa EMEA, since hindi kami usually nageextend ng work hours. Asia nga parin talaga mas maganda.
My long weekend was nice. Ininvite kami ng friend ng sister namin sa Caliraya Springs, a golf club resort. May promo na 1.5k/night lang each room eh. The weather over there was nice and cool, unlike here. Halos nagkulong lang ako sa kwarto or nagtambay sa area nila with wifi though. But that was the way I like it. ^_^

ReplyDeleteI had a dream last night (well more of this morning), the MDM people were all at the 10th floor. We were our good kind of rowdy. Ate Abby was going to resign na daw from HP, she was leaving me this pillow which in the dream was something she was always using in the office, but it was using the pillow case we have here at home. Then it was time for pictures na, take turns Asia, EMEA, NALA then everyone. :) Wala lang, just thought I'd share because we're both MDM. I don't know why I'm dreamt of MDM... But I right now I'm reasoning that maybe it's because I miss it more in the midst of all this craziness.
Well I'm stressing cause you might get annoyed with reading all the rants, like there's nothing new anymore. :| Haha.
Good thing you followed up your paragraph about resigning with another that's telling me not to feel bad... Cause I really did. I didn't want my explanation to be the push as to why you're leaving HP. But I guess given the way you explained it (your status post in FB which I believe I "liked" back then), I'm glad my current situation contributed to your decision of leaving. Not often we get to make big decisions in our lives. And reading that you're at peace with your choice really makes me happy for you... and well kind of jealous for myself. I hope I get to realize what I really want soon too. :)
Did you immediately start working after getting out of college? Cause if you did, then maybe you shouldn't be too concerned about putting off applying elsewhere. Think of it as the break you never had! Haha! Well unless you're the type who thinks it's useless to have such type of idle time, which was what I felt that's why I just quickly looked for work after graduation, then I guess you better get a move on and start looking haha. You can have some free time din naman while looking, although you have to be cautious for call backs and interview schedules. :p
You had no doubt I can do it?? Bait mo naman haha. Feels good to hear that, thanks. Although recently I've been hearing that too much or other words with a similar train of thought and well in a way I feel pressured to deliver. :| I'm scared to disappoint people, I think I told you this before.
I think in a way it's sad to feel any kind of relationship being cut off. I'm like that most times, a mild case of separation anxiety then I get to go on with life like I usually do then from time to time I feel sad about things. Thank you for making me feel better that it's okay to reply late and reminding me that this should not be stressful - just the way I would like it to stay. Typing right now is actually making me feel relaxed cause I'm not doing this with stress or anxiety. You do know it goes the same for you. But I think you balance your time well to juggle your activities. :)
EMEA more than 9 hours = not good at all. I left the office at 3am kanina... and in a while I'll be getting ready for work again. :( I hope all this work will land me a fulfilling Asia gig soon.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds nice! I've been seeing Caliraya Golf Springs ads in those group-buying sites and the pictures look peaceful. I've also been seeing Mount Sea plugs too! Haha. Speaking of Mount Sea, I think I left my ID there. Although I'm nowhere near sure. :( Makes me sad though cause it's my La Salle ID and I didn't want to lose it. Hayayay. Sarap maki-extra sainyo for that cool weather. It's been unbearably hot. Such a Jake thing to do - staying in the room and just hanging. And I actually said that with no other meaning, just a plain observation. :)
My weekend was meaningful and fun; time well spent with family. Headed down south to our province for Holy Week activities. What I'd give to stay there for a little longer, the vibes there is just so different. The only stressful things during that trip was having no heater (although this was almost balanced out by the hot weather), the different bathing water and the larger than life mosquitoes haha. Aga matulog ng mga tao dun, 7 or 8 pa lang ata tulog na. When I was there, I found myself wishing I could do the same. But I know there are some things about my lifestyle in this city I wouldn't want to trade too. Oh and one of our nights there was too funny, we ended up watching this movie sa Cinema One or PBO haha, Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang. Then that night, ate and I were still awake in bed then we heard a sound like wings flapping, we scared ourselves to laughter hahaha.
I didn't get enough rest though. After the Wednesday shift, I just packed, got ready and we traveled na. And I can't sleep well in the car. :( Then we usually had to wake up early during our stay. Ride back home kinda similar to ride going there. But still, I liked my weekend. Downside is... I know have colds haha. But I know this is not solely due to that weekend. @@ Hahaha. I can't afford to get sick... Hay nako po.

Nah, I enjoy reading rants. They show me how good I have it. Joke! (Jokes are half meant though) Pero seriously, I'm really fine with reading rants. A silly part of me even wants to enter some advice-giving program. Yung makikinig ka sa problema ng mga tao tas magbibigay ng advice. But that's a silly idea, so I just bury the thought.
Haha, after I posted my reply, I've wondered if adding that paragraph wasn't too presumptious (whoa, I actually used that word?). But yeah. That decision was a good thing, although I think that was too rushed. I resigned early in hopes of avoiding future projects and future NALA shifts. Dapat may job lined up na muna bago ako nagresign. Though given that, dapat naghahanap na ko ngayon .-. But I'm too lazy.
I looked for jobs after college. Graduation was around September. I had my interviews in HP in November and December (dunno if it even reached January). Then around January ko nalaman na iaaccept na ko. I was too relaxed back then. May mahahabang gaps between my interviews eh. Normal people would already look for other jobs during the gaps, in case di sila napasok. Medyo late ko na narealize yun. And I realized it because of an anime. xD
If it was entirely up to me, I'd rather relax for a while. Pero minamadali ako ng dad ko na maghanap ng malilipatan eh. He asks me almost every chance he gets. Kaya ako naprpressure. May point naman siya. Mas maganda na pumasok sa mga interviews while you have a job. At least may ka-compete yung company na nagiinterview sayo. As compared to knowing that you are jobless.
Well, as I know wala pang bumabagsak sa ITIL eh. I also know that you have a good head on your shoulders. So expected ko talaga na papasa ka. As for being pressured, that's what happens when you don't keep a low profile. Though that's also good. Bigger pressure => better effort => better work => bigger expectations => bigger pressure. Chicken and egg. That's good because you'll grow that way. :) And you have to keep growing while you still can. Kapag di mo na nafefeel yung pressure na yan and you stop placing effort, downhill na yan. Hopefully, you won't feel that way for a long time.

Ganun? Matagal na since pumunta tayo doon. So I don't think it'll still be there by now. Sana naman namisplace mo lang sa bag or something. Ang init nga pag balik. Galing ng ginawa nila sa place. Underground yung rooms, instead of above the ground floor. So the temperature was cooler. Wala lang nga signal :/ Since DM ako, nagtambay ako sa wifi area. Jake thing to do = introvert thing.
Saan yung province niyo? And it wasn't cooler? Dunno why, but I imagined it being cooler in provinces than here. Maybe because of less Carbon monoxide and other nerd stuff? The flapping story was amusing. I could imagine that happening... I could feel the excitement and fear =))
You can't sleep in cars? Why not? Natry mo makinig sa ipod/mp3 while trying to sleep? Wala lang, baliktad kasi ako eh. Kahit hindi antok, mabilis lang ako matulog sa mga transpo, especially when listening to music. My little brother and I joked about it being due to the pull you feel when in a moving vehicle. Similar to how it is hard to get up in the mornings. The greater pull/gravity makes us sleep better. That's a baseless theory though. Nerd talk...
Anyway, why not go on SL? Kahit magwfh ka sa bahay, since I don't think you'll be able to relax properly if you didn't work at all. I think you'll still be able to rest better that way.

Hi, Jake!!! Happy month of May! Welcome to my favorite favorite favorite month! :) Hahaha. I am writing to you while I'm on vacation and I don't think I've been this happy for quite a while. I hope you're happy as well. Before this week of being on leave, I've had countless nights (well dawns) of crying myself to sleep or not sleeping at all... Having a hard time with work is frustrating. Even more when you don't know if you want to quit na or not. :|
ReplyDeleteAnd so I'll share what I did this week. For the first time everrrr, I went to Boracay! Oh that labor day thing. I had fun and I'm very glad I pushed through with having this leave. Plus points for deciding not to bring my laptop anymore hihihi. It's such a nice island. Have you ever been there? Although I think it was nicer then. I know. Hahahaha. I'm not really much of a beach person haha. I don't like getting dark eh, and I get dark easily. Now... I can't even explain my color hahaha! :)) But I really gave my all to enjoy it! Not really worrying about how dark I'll get - well I did but I just let it go (even if I'd rant about it once in a while haha). Ahhhhh it was really fun, Jake. Happy vibes. I so want to go back... and not work anymore. :( But siyempre that's not possible haha.
So how are you? Last time I checked you were just counting down the days til you're leaving HP. How's life treating you so far? Any interviews coming up? Not that I'm prying into your business ha. Just if you want to share. Hihihi.

We're travelling to Quezon again in a while, to Lucena, the province of one of my titos. My cousin is getting married! I'm excited for her... Not very excited about the car ride though. Pahirapan na naman matulog.
Oh I forgot to tell you! I went parasailing in Boracay! Look it up to see! I'm so proud of myself! Took me minutes or hours worth of mustering my courage just to pull it off and I'm happy I did hahaha! Only thing wrong is that I puked after hahaha. Combination of the fear I felt while being so high up and sea sickness from the boat I guess haha.
I wish you're as happy as I am right now if not more. I mean I know I could be so much happier but just to feel this break from all the craziness of work is just AMAZING! On a high! The good kind, not the bad hahaha! :)

Hi Gemma. Happy month of May din. Kung napapaiyak ka sa work mo, that's a definite sign that you have to leave, is it not? I visited RS a couple of times last week for the clearance. I had dinner with Zari, Kim, and Ray and mukhang sobrang stressful nga work niyo. And to think I was complaining about my role just because of the shift. I was pretty lucky, in comparison. Pero naspoil na kasi ako ng MDM eh. Iba parin talaga.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Boracay. Mainly because I hate beaches (ayoko talaga eh) and I usually just travel with family. More on for friends yung Boracay eh. The Cebu trip was my first trip (by plane) with friends, actually. How long was your trip/leave? Never ko pang naexperience yung mahabang leave. Seems like it'll be a nice experience. Too late though.
No interviews so far. I asked Allen for help in referrals to Macquarie. Nandun din sister niya eh. Pero mukhang may HP hiring freeze sila, so it doesn't look good. I'm currently enjoying my bum life. At least I'm trying to. My dad keeps asking me for updates on my job hunt so I constantly feel pressured. I know kasalanan ko na hindi ako naghanap agad before I left HP. I don't think I could do that since kailangan mga 2 months in advanced yung pagplan ng leaves and kapag nagkainterview man ako, I am not the type to just take a sudden leave for that. Gusto ng dad ko na magpa-apprentice ako sa isang store ng uncle ko eh. As I know, it's business is selling light machinery. And for someone who cannot remember the difference between watt and ampere, I don't think it'll be a good experience for me. Also, 6 days a week yung work. I want my weekend! Sorry, nagrant pa ko xD
Congrats for your cousin. Being bad in Georgraphy, I had to check where Quezon/Lucena is via google. Since lagpas pa siya ng Laguna and Batangas, that would mean it's around 4-5 hours of travel? Hopefully, comfortable naman yung sasakyan niyo. Otherwise, sakit nga sa ulo yan.
Yeah, parasailing is fun. May dip rin ba sa tubig? That's when the speedboat slows down to let you drop to the water. I didn't think fear of heights would kick in though, since may force na nagpupush sayo pataas. I can't remember much anyway. The boat = speedboat pulling you or the boat ride there?
Well, rather than happy, I feel relaxed. As in walang worries about work (aside from the job hunt). It's a nice feeling. And since I'm not the type to get bored from doing nothing, I am enjoying it. I told myself to study android programming while I'm free. But procastination won. .-.

I think I'm resigning soon, Jake. I have this week to really think about it and pray about things. On leave til Thursday as per doctor's advise haha. So I guess I'll think about what I want to do... Cause I think it's really not this anymore. I think I won't even go back to operations to try it out. Just finish this project and say bye... it feels heavy to think about it though and condition myself that I'm about to tell people close to me that it's time to leave... but I think in the long run it'll be better for everyone. :)

I actually dislike beaches too and sometimes even swimming pools haha. I hate getting dark and the sand and sticky feeling are not favorites of mine haha. But the trip was fun with friends, that will probably be like a yearly thing now. :p My leave was a week long. One of the greatest leaves ever... Cause that was my only leave so far haha. Well vacation leave that is, right now it's sick leave haha.
So as I was asking a while ago, how are you? New job yet? Did you follow your dad's suggestion of working for you uncle? Although I'm not rooting for it since I don't think it will interest you. Plus yes, good to have your weekends. :) I'd love to hear what you're up to. :)

Yes, we were dipped in the water during parasailing. I liked that part.. except when after dipping, the tendency was to go back up haha. Not very fun. My tummy was in knots hahaha! :))

ReplyDeleteI'm good. I'm still jobless, though I'm no longer looking for a job. I decided to accept my dad's offer and work in the retail store my uncle's working in. Since I will be working 6 days a week by that time, I'm enjoying my "weekends" for now. I'll prolly start working around August/September, since my uncle will be retiring by then. Ayaw ako papasukin ng dad ko until then, since conflicting yung ideas ng dad ko at ng uncle ko eh. My dad will be training me once I get in. Anyway, kamusta? Still swamped? Ano sakit mo? Bawal sweets? :O
Any idea on what you want to do or where you want to work after HP? I suggest looking for a replacement job before leaving. I've been told off a lot since I didn't do that =)). And although you still have your project to finish, before you even plan to leave, I suggest you start thinking about what you want to do now. Kapag after project ka pa nag-isip, baka bigyan ka ng bagong project before you even reach a decision. Well, suggestion lang naman so you don't become like me, though I don't really regret it. I got to rest a lot, after all. xD
I still don't understand why most people enjoy beaches. Do they like getting sands in their footwear? Do they enjoy treading on sand? Would they rather swim in salty water than a pool? If it's for hanging out, then why not go food tripping? The mysteries of life...
In preparation to working in retail in the store my uncle's working in, nagkaroon kami (brother and I) ng nightly seminar with my dad last month, wherein he discussed their products (what they do, where they're used in, and how their work). Although naintindihan ko naman during the 'seminars', I wonder how much I still remember right now. Btw, my brother also learned them since the products were under my dad's company, where my brother is currently working in. Pero yung mga products na yun are only a few of what the retail store will sell. Well, good luck nalang sa sarili ko. Aside from me, maghihire rin daw yung dad ko ng sales people na ittrain din niya. Pressure lang sa akin (since I have to do better xD).
Anyway, aside from the nightly 'seminars' which is now over, I've been helping around the house whenever there are problems , like when our house got flooded 2 weeks ago due to some drain being clogged up - causing the water from the roof to flow out from the second floor drain. Aaand... other problems... Aside from these, free time lang talaga ako. I play Flyff (online game), read light novels, watch animes... Fun ~,~
Yup, I got to vote. As expected, that was a big hassle. Before going, my dad talked about how it was faster to vote in Intramuros than where my mom was voting in (we registered in Intramuros, para sama sama na kami). but it turned out that there were way more people than my dad expected. Well, I didn't believe him anyway. Pessimist lang. .-. I really want to skip next election. #irresponsiblecitizen

Happy New Year! Can't believe it's been more than a year since you made these pages for all of us and more than a year since MDM shutdown. I was just looking through Charles' photos of our last offsite and found myself thinking how time flies by so fast.
How are you doing? Heard you're really working with your uncle na daw. Hope that's working out well and you're enjoying it. Last I talked to you here you weren't so excited about it.
As for me, I finally made the big move to shift out of HP and the IT career in general. And so far it's proving to be one of the better decisions I've made in my life. Now have a normal shift doing things I like better than SAP haha.
Such a wonderment how plenty of things can happen in a year... how so many things can unfold or develop. Haha I'm getting sentimental. I guess I just really missed writing here. And I hope I can still do from time to time.

I started working in my uncle's company on Jan 2. Actually, it was the company my uncle used to run with one of my aunts. And I replaced my uncle, so I'm now the one working here with my aunt.
As for how it is... I can't really judge it properly at the moment. I'm supposed to be working as a sales person most of the time. But since they don't use any computer systems for their accounting/inventory, I took the opportunity to create one. As a result, I spend most of the time in front of my laptop (successfully escaped from the front lines). We'll buy an official software in the future, so my program will be trashed at that time. But in the meantime, I'm using my program to encode our data. In short, I'm working as an IT guy instead of a manager.
My only complaint at the moment is the 6 days work week (7 days last week since we had to do some clean up) and working on holidays. I was told that we're going to be closed on Jan 31 (Chinese new year) though. I didn't tell my dad and I'm sure I'm going to be told off about that when I do, since my dad's the one insisting that retail stores are not supposed to be closed on holidays. Sucks to be future me. I just want my rest!!!
There are times when I find myself still wishing I entered some other business. A few ideas are toy sales (anime figures!) and croissant shop (still haven't given up on it). Something I can at least enjoy selling or talking to the customers about. Too late now though, as I can't just leave the company. Well, I'll just see where this path will take me.
Seeing as it's been a couple of weeks since you wrote and my reply, how's life and work so far?
